Augering
Fence lines, tree plantings, mailbox posts, foundation piers — almost every project on a property starts with a hole in the ground. Augering is how we drill those holes fast, straight, and to a consistent depth, using a hydraulic auger instead of a shovel.
Faster Than a Shovel, Every Time
Hand-digging a post hole in Texas caliche or rocky soil is slow, exhausting work — an hour or more per hole isn’t unusual, and the result is still often uneven or too shallow. Our hydraulic auger changes that math entirely. We run a 30-inch auger with an extension that can drill up to 15 feet deep, cutting a clean, straight hole to consistent depth in a couple of minutes instead of an hour.
Multiply that across a fence line of fifty post holes and the difference isn’t small — a job that would take a crew with shovels the better part of a week is a single day’s work with the right auger and operator. And because every hole comes out the same width and depth, posts sit straighter and structures hold up longer than anything set by hand.
How Augering Works
- Mark hole locations — Spacing and depth planned to the fence line, planting plan, or structure.
- Check for utilities — Lines are located and marked before drilling starts.
- Drill each hole — Our 30-inch hydraulic auger drills straight, consistent holes up to 15 feet deep, even through caliche or rocky soil.
- Clear spoil — Loose soil is cleared from each hole so it’s ready for a post, pier, or planting.
- Walk the line — We check hole depth and spacing against the plan before wrapping up.
