Mesquite is one of the toughest invasive trees to deal with in Central and West Texas. It thrives in overgrazed pasture, spreads through seed pods livestock help carry, and will grow right back from the taproot if you only cut what’s above ground.

Cutting mesquite off at ground level is a temporary fix at best — the taproot sends up new growth within a season. We remove mesquite at the root, so it actually stays gone instead of coming back thicker than before.

How Mesquite Removal Works
- Assess the thicket — We walk the pasture to gauge density, tree size, and taproot depth.
- Root-focused removal — Equipment sized to pull or grub out the taproot, not just cut at the surface.
- Clear the thicket — Dense stands cleared in passes so pasture opens back up gradually and safely.
- Debris handling — Mulched in place, burned, or hauled off based on your preference and county rules.
- Follow-up check — We flag any resprouting to watch so the pasture actually stays clear.
