Forestry Mulching

Forestry mulching grinds trees and brush into mulch right where they stand, instead of pushing everything into a pile to burn or haul off. It’s faster, leaves a nutrient-rich mulch bed that feeds the soil and controls erosion, and skips the mess and smoke of a traditional clear-and-burn.

Forestry mulcher grinding brush and cedar into mulch

One Pass, No Pile, No Burn

Our mulching head shreds cedar, brush, and small trees into fine mulch in a single pass — no piling, no waiting on a burn permit, no hauling debris off the property. What’s left behind breaks down naturally and helps hold moisture and control erosion on the ground you just cleared.

We’re owner-operated — founder Harlan Stanley personally walks the property and runs the mulcher himself, planning the work with an eye toward permaculture rather than clearing everything flat.

How Forestry Mulching Works

  1. Property assessment — We walk the acreage to flag which trees and brush stay and which get mulched.
  2. Single-pass mulching — Our mulching head grinds cedar, brush, and small trees to ground level in one pass, no piling required.
  3. Mulch left in place — The shredded material breaks down naturally, holding moisture and controlling erosion instead of getting hauled off.
  4. Selective passes — We work around trees and native grasses worth keeping rather than clearing flat.
  5. Walkthrough — Final check of the cleared ground with you before we wrap up.
