Most people know iLandClearing for what happens on the ground: forestry mulching, cedar removal and getting overgrown Texas land back into usable shape. What you don’t see is everything behind it. Before a mulcher ever touches your property, someone has to plan the haul, get the right truck and trailer to the right place, keep the equipment serviced, and handle the paperwork and invoices afterward.
For us, all of that runs on GitTruckin, a truck management system built for small fleets. This post explains what that partnership looks like day to day, and why it matters to you as a customer.
Why a Land Clearing Company Needs Trucking Software
Land clearing is half heavy equipment and half transportation. Dozers, mulchers and excavators have to be hauled to every job on a lowboy. Our trucks also run freight loads for brokers when they aren’t moving our own equipment. Every one of those trips creates paperwork: rate confirmations, bills of lading, proof of delivery, photos, invoices, maintenance records.
For a long time that lived in text messages, email threads, a clipboard in the truck and a spreadsheet in the office. It worked, until it didn’t. A missing delivery photo or a lost bill of lading can hold up a payment for weeks. A missed oil change can sideline a machine in the middle of a job. We wanted one place for all of it.
Built From Our Own Trip Report
GitTruckin grew out of the tools we built to run iLandClearing. Our drivers already used a phone-based trip report: photos of the load at pickup, the shipper’s paperwork, photos at each drop and the signed proof of delivery, all bundled into one PDF that went to our office and the broker. GitTruckin started from that same trip report and built a full trucking system around it.
That history is why the partnership works so well. The software was shaped by real loads, real drivers and real Texas roads, and new features come from problems we actually run into.
What Runs on GitTruckin at iLandClearing

Dispatch and routes. Every haul is a route with a driver, a truck, a trailer and its stops. When a broker sends a rate confirmation, GitTruckin reads it and fills in the load number, stops and schedule, so dispatch only has to check it and pick a driver. Each route gets a map with estimated miles and drive time.
Trip reports from the driver’s phone. Drivers open GitTruckin on their phone, see today’s load and next stop, tap for directions, and send the pickup and delivery reports right from the cab. The photos and paperwork become one clean PDF that goes to our office and the broker automatically.

Equipment and maintenance. Trucks, trailers and equipment all have service schedules by miles, engine hours or date. Hour meter readings and service logs are kept for each machine, and the office gets a heads-up before something is due, not after it breaks down on a job site.
Documents in one place. Registrations, inspections, insurance and driver licenses and medical cards are stored with their expiry dates, with a warning before anything runs out.
Invoices that flow straight into our books. When a load is delivered, GitTruckin builds the invoice with the rate confirmation and proof of delivery attached. Those invoices now copy automatically into the customer system we use here on ilandclearing.com, so an invoice sent from GitTruckin shows up on our side as unpaid, and gets marked paid when it’s paid. No retyping, and nothing slips through the cracks.
What It Means for Our Customers
- Better scheduling. We can see which trucks and machines are free and where they are, so we can give you a realistic start date and stick to it.
- Fewer breakdowns. Equipment that’s serviced on schedule is equipment that shows up and runs all day.
- Documented deliveries. Every load of equipment or material is photographed and logged, from pickup to drop.
- Clean, accurate paperwork. Invoices are built from the actual job record, so what you see matches what happened.
- More time on your land. Less time on paperwork in the office means more time running equipment for you.
